Add Supplier and SMSC
SMSC connections are associated with suppliers who are either MNOs or SMS gateways.
Melrose Labs provide an SMSC Simulator service that can be used as a test supplier/SMSC. Get SMPP credentials at https://melroselabs.com/services/smsc-simulator/.
Add supplier
Click on Suppliers
and then Add supplier
.
Enter the supplier’s full organisation
name, an abbreviation
for the supplier and select the country
in which they are located.
Click Save
.
The supplier will now be shown in the table of suppliers.
Add SMSC
Expand the Suppliers
section and click on SMSCs
.
Click Add SMSC
.
Select the newly entered supplier from the Supplier
list.
Enter the full name
for this SMSC connection.
Enter a short name
(abbreviation) that will be shown as a label for this SMSC connection throughout your SSG instance.
You can now enter the SMPP system ID
, password
, default character set
, host
, port
and SMPP version
.
When entering the hostname in the Host field of Create/Modify - Supplier SMSC, enclose the hostname in curly braces { … }.
SMPP over TLS is not currently supported.
Select the SSG Location
(UK, Germany, etc) that you want to use for connecting to this SMSC.
Now click on Enabled
so that this SMSC will be used. When enabled, the bind(s) to the SMSC will be up. When disabled, the bind(s) to the SMSC will be down.
Click Save
.
The SMSC will now be shown in the table of SMSCs.
In the Status | SMSCs
section you should now see the newly added SMSC in the diagram, connected to the SSG location you selected above. A red or green status on the SMSC’s block shows status of the SMPP bind to that SMSC.
